Castlehamilton is an ideal location to stay for a family holiday. Myself and a few friends stayed for a week long holiday and managed to do some excellent hillwalking in Slieve an Iarainn and Cuilcagh Mountain range. Horse trekking available on site along with games room, pool table, table tennis, football game and French bowling pitches. There was excellent entertainment in Killeshandra which is 5 mins walk from CH - Maggies Bar had Traditional Irish music on Thursday nights and great food and also Hayes Bar offered us an opportunity to meet with the locals. I would highly recommend Castlehamilton

We recently stayed at Castlehamilton for nights. We found the accommodations to be fantastic and only a short walk into the village where there are pubs, a restaurant and a grocery story. Audrey and Alan were phenomenal hosts and were able to recommend many things in the local area. Right outside the door the cottages there are many walking trails and you can see many of Ireland's top sites during day trips if you are so inclined due to the central location. 

Staying here was a nature lovers dream. If traveling with kids or kids at heart, there is a game room that looked very well stocked.

We stayed in a cottage here for a bank holiday weekend with another family - it was a last minute booking and we found Audrey very helpful and flexible in accommodating both families. We had 4 teenagers and a 7 year old with us. There was no wifi at our cottage - which the parents were delighted with! We spent a lot of time in the games room, which was really spacious, comfortable and well equipped (and there was some wifi there!) - a great facility to have. The site itself is great for walks and cycles, beautiful grounds, an amazing job has been one restoring the properties. You feel in the middle of nowhere but are in fact only a few minutes walk from the village which has shops, pubs, hotel and take away. The location is great - perfect for exploring the area, close to lakes and the forest park. We weren't there in fishing season but it was a bank holiday weekend and we couldn't believe how quiet it was. Great for cycling, canoeing, walking. We also took a trip to visit Florence Court, a National Trust property and Marble Arch Caves, in County Fermanagh, only 40 mins drive away - a really enjoyable day out.

We stayed here for 6 nights in July in the Forge house. It is set in a beautiful courtyard that had seating and was a sun trap. The house had 3 rooms 2 very large (one ensuite) bedrooms, a smaller room the bed were very comfortable and all were spotlessly clean. The kitchen was really well equipped and it looked like the oven was brand new. The games room was a god send in the Irish weather. Free pool table, table football and table tennis the kids loved it and it was perfectly safe for them to come and go, many an hour was spent on it..As it has been mentioned before the hosts are exceptional. Friendly people who could not do enough for you, I would stay there again just for their hospitality. They were always recommending things and offering lifts etc and showing you more of their lovely property.
There are some beautiful sign posted walks that start within a few mins of the house with old bridges, beautiful forests and wild flowers. Definitely a place worth visiting.

I just spent 10 days in cavan county, in killeshandra to Castlehamilton Estate Cottages. What a beautiful place. Cottages are very comfortable, with everything you need in. All around is countryside, animals, lakes rivers. You can do cycling, walking...or just do nothing and appreciate it !. The hosts, Audrey and Alan are very kind persons who will do all what they can to let you have a marvelous stay. Go there to spend the best holidays of your life !

We had a really great stay in the Gatehouse at Castlehamilton. 
Excellent accommodation with everything on one level and well equipped with just a short walk to the village of Killeshandra where there was good food and good entertainment. 
Alan and Audrey were so helpful and informative. We are most definitely hoping to return again soon!
