In Castlehamilton, we are open all year for Pike Fishing. We consider that the best time to come for pike fishing is from February to Mid-June and from Mid-September to Mid-November, however it is also possible to indulge in your passion of Pike fishing in the summer and winter months also, when you also have the opportunity to catch very large specimens! One restriction: it is forbidden to fish with live bait.
The pike fishing possibilities are endless: you can, without any problem, catch exceptional fish from the river bank. However, to maximize your chances of catching pike and have a comfortable experience, we provide you with the very best quality Irish Sheelin boats or Keeper brand of float-tubes, to use according to your desires and lakes you have chosen.

For trout fishing, Killeshandra is the most visited destination for fishing in Ireland! It is a paradise for fly-fishing with magnificent specimens relatively easy to catch with a dry fly. Guests can also enjoy nymph fishing. Fishermen can learn techniques from our guide. The numbers/density of trout in the rivers is really impressive with the average size of your catch, in principle, between 18 and 45 cm. Clubs who manage these rivers give permits for the year or the day, but you don't have to worry about that, your fishing guide will help you get the license upon arrival! On the season, fishing for trout in Ireland starts 1St March and ends September 30.

Killeshandra is known for its lakes and rivers and is particularly proud of its landscape! also, which is now identified as part of a UNESCO Global Geopark!.

Finally, concerning coarse fishing, Cavan, our County is the best! Indeed, many international competitions are organized in Killeshandra and surrounding areas, based on the fact that we have an impressive population of Coarse fish! For your fishing holiday, we recommend that you bring your own material. However, we do have rods, reels, echosounders for hire on site and we have a fishing shop selling bait, lures, rods, Float tubes etc
One last tip: bring warm clothes and rain proof gear, and we recommend that you bring your waders. Finally, don't forget your camera to record your memories to show to your family and friends on your return! home.
